
Byron Philp
Byron predominantly appears in criminal matters across Queensland, as well as family law trials in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. He has been briefed and led in Court of Appeal proceedings. Byron has experience appearing in jurisdictions outside Queensland, including the Northern Territory.

In addition to his criminal and family law practice, Byron also undertakes regulatory work, and has appeared in the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
Byron is committed to providing clear, practical, and effective advocacy across all jurisdictions in which he appears.

Prior to joining the private Bar, Byron was a Senior Federal Prosecutor with the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, where he gained extensive experience in complex indictable criminal matters, including large-scale drug importations, organised crime, money laundering, and online child exploitation cases. He also has experience in fraud matters, including tax fraud and NDIS prosecutions.
